Telex AI is a new experiment by Automattic. If you can imagine it, you can create it by prompting the AI to build you a block for WordPress. The experience is pretty wild and feels like Loveable but for Gutenberg.
If you haven’t spent any time playing Telex AI, stop reading this post and do it now!
After successfully building Minesweeper, which was the most fun I’ve had in WordPress to date, I wanted to create something that I might want to use in a real project.

Enter my latest creation, the scroll indicator block. Add this block to the bottom of your screen to prompt users to continue scrolling. It features a few settings you can adjust to customize the block:
- Mouse icon color
- Icon size (small, medium, and large)
- Hide after scrolling toggle
- Show text toggle
- Custom text field

The icon even has a subtle animation to draw your readers’ attention. I didn’t need to know any HTML, CSS, Javascript, or any bit of code; I just needed the idea and a prompt.
This new experiment is only scratching the surface. Imagine the ability to craft an entire plugin or system of blocks just by prompting an AI agent. I’m really excited for the future of WordPress.
Let’s build fun back into the internet, one block at a time.
