Built for writers, researchers, and academics who believe the content should always come first. Features dark mode by default with a light style variation, and a library of block patterns for common content structures.
Design Principles
The theme draws from Edward Tufte’s principles of information design: maximize data-ink ratio, avoid chartjunk, and respect the reader’s intelligence. Every design decision — from the 650px content width to the left-justified layout — serves readability.
Typography first, everything else second.
Typography first
ET Book serif, an optimal line length, and generous margins. The 650px content column is a reading decision, not a layout one.
Dark by default
An easy-on-the-eyes dark palette with gold accents, tuned for long reads.
Light variation
One click in Appearance, Editor, Styles switches the whole site to a cream light palette.
Block patterns
Header, footer, about card, reading list, newsletter CTA, syllabus, and more, all built from core blocks.
Full-site editing
Every template and style lives in the Site Editor. No theme options page.
Minimal ornamentation
Content first, Tufte-inspired: maximize the data-ink ratio and respect the reader.
