I like the concept of notes so far for Jetpack. Big downside is that you cannot include comments in your archive or single template. If you are reading this note, I just created both of those templates. You probably are seeing this on LinkedIn, which is good. If you click through, you’ll get a very basic single note template. I really want comments here on the actual blog.
The archive I’ve set here https://derekhanson.blog/sn. Each note is using the full post content block in the Gutenberg theme blocks. I’ll keep improving this over time and hopefully see new features. I definitely want to see some patterns for these in the near future. #jetpack #wordpress #socialnotes #blogging

Now this is a cool new feature! Jetpack just added a new feature to its Jetpack Social plugin called Social Notes. Kind of like posting to social media like X or Facebook or whatever you use. Just open, write, publish. No need to worry about coming up with a title, a featured image (although you can still add one), or any of the publishing options that feel cumbersome for your quick thoughts.
This is straight up grip it and rip it. Quick form publishing like you are used to but on your own website. You can also connect social platforms like LinkedIn, Tumblr, and Mastodon so you publish on your blog and it posts to your social sites.
As of now this is still in beta, but I could see this becoming pretty popular. -
